Hiranyakashipu’s son name Prahlada rejected his demand and said Lord Vishnu is the only superior, Then the asura king got angry and tried many times to kill prahlada, but all in vain. Then one day Prahlada Aunt name Holika performed a fire practice, both prahlada and holika sat on the fire, Holika wear a invisible cloth which made her resistant to fire, Suddenly a wind blew and cloth blew into the Prahlada body and thus the evil holika was burned into the fire and Lord Vishnu saved prahlada once again.
The Lord vishnu himself took an avatar called Lord Narsimha avatar to kill the Asura king Hiranyakshipu and killed him. This event is celebrated as a victory of good over evil.
